As the build-up to Wigan Pride 2022 begins on Saturday 13th August, for which WWL is the headline sponsor, the team there have highlighted some of the services set to be in attendance on the day.

The Team will be offering discreet screening for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, Gonorrhoea (all carried out via a finger prick test), basic clinical observations and health advice.

The team will also be distributing free condoms and lubricants.

Everyone is welcome to visit the team’s stall to get free face/beard/ hair glitter and rainbow face paints.

There will also be an opportunity to leave an anonymous message on the wishing tree.

The team’s main function is to support individuals and families, particularly those from disadvantaged groups who often have difficulties accessing services.

They work with a wide range of vulnerable people to improve access to a variety of health care services with the aim of reducing hospital admissions.
In addition to support with accessing health services, the team offer general physical assessments, Chlamydia, Syphilis and Gonorrhoea testing (sexually transmitted infection tests) and screening for Blood Borne Virus (BBV) Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV.
