Preston Named One Of The ‘Pub Quiz Capitals’ By Hearts-Challenge

A new report has shown Preston to be one of the pub quiz capitals of the UK.

A study conducted by online gaming platform Hearts-Challenge has examined how many pubs offer a quiz night in over 50 areas throughout the UK to determine who is the pub quiz capitals of the UK.

Preston has made it to the top ten of that list, revealing that it has the fourth highest number in the country for offering 36.75 quizzes per 100,000 people.

Durham made it to the top of the table, with 70.73 per 100,000 people. Chichester ranked second in the findings, with 54.97 quizzes, whilst Wakefield made third place, with 44.33.

Preston only slightly behind to become the fourth highest ranking, with Salisbury not far behind on 37.38 pub quizzes per 100,000 people.

A spokesperson for said: “Pub quizzes are a fun and thought-provoking way to keep people entertained, but most notably a fantastic way to engage with the local community. Whether you remember trivial facts or not, quiz nights allow you to enjoy yourself while working out your brain and socialising with your peers.

This study provides a great guide into the most prominent quiz cities across the UK, with Durham taking the top spot by a landslide.”
