Inquest Opens Into Death Of Wigan Woman Missing For Over A Week

An inquest has opened looking into the death of a woman from Wigan Borough after her body was found more than a week after she was reported as missing.

Wigan police appealed for information last month regarding Janice Twist, last on Charles Street, Leigh, on Wednesday 25th May.

The community came together to share the posts, in attempt to find Janice. Officers found her body on June 4th which has lead to touching tributes from friends, family and the wider community.

Described as “life of every party” and a “beautiful lady” in social media posts from people close to her.

Bolton Crown Court have opened an inquest into the circumstances surrounding the 46 year olds death.

Timothy Brennand, Senior coroner, was told her medical cause of death was hanging.

The court have adjourned the inquest. A full hearing has been scheduled for December 12th.
