Man with links to Wigan is on the run from police for serious motor offences.

An appeal has been launched by Wigan police officers to try and find Craig Shelley from Up Holland, who is now wanted for dangerous and disqualified driving and breach of bail conditions.

The 34 Year old man with links to Wigan had been previously jailed for three years for bundling his ex, and mother of his child, in the back of a car, threatening her with a knife and part throttling her.

Bolton Crown Court heard that the controlling dad had forced his way into the home of his former partner after finding out she had been out in Wigan the night before.

Shelley, who had already received a restraining order for sending threatening messages to his previous partner, demanded she tell him where she had been the previous evening.

The court heard he had scoured her phone saying “we’re going to get to the bottom of this” and dragging her into the vehicle.

He shut the door and locked it, taking out a Stanley knife saying “watch what I do” as he held it to her throat.

“He drove around the Orrell area, she was resisting and screaming. He continued to tell her how he didn’t want her on social media.” Said prosecutor, Daniel Calder.

The court heard how two other men had gotten into the vehicle, as they drove around the area.

At one point, the victim was so terrified that she attempted to climb out of the half-open window while the car was stopped at traffic lights.

The terrified woman was then pushed into the foot well, where Shelley pinned her down saying “stay down and do as you’re told.”

Shelley is known to have links with the Wigan, Liverpool and Skelmersdale areas. He is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, with blue eyes and of of medium build.

A spokesperson for GMP Wigan West said that anybody with information as to his whereabouts should call 0161 856 3622 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
